Before her second birthday, our miracle baby Leia was rushed to the hospital with blood sugar levels so high they couldn’t be measured. She was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and spent days in critical care as we adjusted to a new reality. Since then, Leia’s condition has required 24/7 monitoring, strict diets, and frequent hospital stays. As a toddler, she can’t yet recognize when her blood sugar is dangerously high or low—leaving us to rely on flawed technology that often fails.
To keep Leia safe, we’re raising funds for a Diabetic Alert Service Dog trained to detect her blood sugar changes and alert caregivers immediately. This dog will provide life-saving support, security, and independence as Leia grows. The cost is estimated at $10,000, beyond what our family can afford as public servants.
We humbly ask for your help in joining Leia in the fight for her Paw-tner!
